HUALONG 丨花珑

花: pronounced "hua"; flower, representing vitality and beauty

珑: pronounced "long"; translucent jade, representing inner power

“花之绽放，珑光自现” -- With the blooming of the flower, its elegance naturally reveals itself.

OUR STORIES:

We are three girls from China with very different background: an Architect (Sue), a Strategic Analyst(Sherry), and a Model(Poppy). We currently live in Beijing, Vancouver, New York and Shanghai; respectively. Having studied and worked both in China and abroad, our diverse backgrounds led us to believe that the paths we chose were our true passions. Yet, the clash between reality and ideals wasn’t always beautiful. Over time, we found ourselves conflicted and confused, torn between persistence and compromise, struggling between reality and ourselves.

Half to confront the inner contradictions, half to find our true selves, we met in a Yi Jing (易经) course. The profound wisdom of Yi Jing (易经) gave us great strength. Here, we calmed our minds to read, think, and discuss; we have built a bridge between the reality and our souls, ultimately reconciling with ourselves.

We accepted that contradictions are parts of our life, and that opposing forces must find balance through transformation and flow. Balance doesn’t mean giving up, but finding the best way for both sides to coexist. With this understanding, we began to explore new possibilities on our journey of life.

As we talk to more and more people, we realized that we are not the only one who struggles. We live in the balance between expectations and our true selves. From this perspective, this story is the story of all of us.

This is the reason we created Hualong丨花珑. We aim to design pieces that are both beautiful and powerful, inspired by Chinese mythology and the ancient wisdom of the I Ching's Five Elements. These intangible forces come from timeless knowledge, exploring the harmonious resonance between humanity, the universe, and nature.
